A new chapter

I have two very dear friends who are off to the ends of the earth teaching and learning.
I've known both my entire life, I'm sure we fought over played with toys in the church nursery!
I have wonderful memories of both.
I can't wait to see what God has in store for all of us in the coming months and years!

Bon Voyage!  Ciao! Until we meet again!

A few changes

So in the last week a few things have changed around here.

Things like...

New items, like these, showing up around my house -

Participating in different weekend activities -

Extra glitters in my car! someone told me my ring would be very sparkly in the car, and they were right!

Usually I'm not much for change, but these? I can deal with these changes!

Oh my! Have we been busy!

I have no idea what the date is, I had to look the other day.  I keep thinking it's the beginning of August but nope! we're more than halfway!

The other week I spent Tuesday - Thursday in Chicago with some of our youth group on a service project.  We worked with a church down there and did a lot of handing out flyers, talking with locals, and even spent some time talking with homeless people downtown.  Definitely an eye opening experience for all of us!

Friday I went back to work, and was greeted Friday night by Mr. P my yardboy and Moses my nephew!  We got to watch him for some of the weekend!  So we walked, had breakfast with my parents, and went to the farmers market.

Saturday evening, Mr P and I spent time with more of our friends.  We had dinner with them and walked to get ice cream. :)

Monday was a fun night too!!!  Cedarville had an alumni event in town, so Mr P, Anna, and I attended.  Such fun!  It's amazing the warmth a school can have through it's alumni family.

See the post below for what happened Tuesday, and now you have the rest of the story.
I suppose I'll just have to sleep some other time!

We do so well in Grand Haven

It's true!  And now even better! :)

Mr. P is looking to officially make me Mrs. P, so he popped the question late Tuesday night!  We had dinner, walked the pier, and got ice cream.  But because there were people around and it's been so unseasonably cold, he waited until we got back into the car to ask.

It was very sweet, and just the right thing.
Just like him.

Because we were in the car already we didnt get a chance to, in my opinion, properly hug and kiss! so I asked him to pull over in Spring Lake! Then, even though it was late, we stopped over to my parents to celebrate with them for a quick minute!

The next night was dinner with his parents to tell them, a phone call to our matchmaker during dinner, a walk across the driveway to tell his Aunt and Uncle, a short car ride down the road to his brother and SIL's, and another short ride to his grandparents and aunt's house.  Thank goodness they all live on the compound! :)

I was hopeful on my trip to CA! :)

A Whole New World!

Mr. P is constantly trying to point out to me all the things he brings to our relationship.  Things like holding the hymnal in church, driving the car, paying for ice cream, etc.  Well this week he was pleased as punch to find another: introducing me to the Country County Fair.

Corn Dog ahoy! and an Elephant Ear was in there somewhere too...

Bunnies!  Check out the trick bunny laying on this back! :)

A whole lotta tractors and a new born baby calf!

Thank you Dearest Dear for opening my eyes to a whole new world! :)

Might I even call it a perfect weekend?

Dinner and a showing of Princess Bride in the park started things off on Friday.

He felt left out cause he didnt have a beard, literally every other guy in the place did! ha! I got my gold standard Turkey Reuban. Not the best I've had.

Somebody thinks it's just hilarious to photobomb pictures. (My face is one of, 'you make me crazy')

Followed by sleeping in, blueberry picking, lunch overlooking the lake, talking with friends, biking with my favorite guy, walking on the beach, delicious dinner, and laughing with friends until long after the sunset on Saturday.

And Cheryl was so right, all I needed was a light jacket :)
