So my friends and family can be up on life here in GR

Eighth time's the charm

I've been wanting to go to the free member's only concert at the Gardens all summer, and it just never seemed to work out. Finally the other night, on the eighth and last concert date, we made it! and we brought friends!

Great seats and great company.  Tasty food too!

We saw Ralston Bowles, a local guy, and his friends The Accidentals. They're a great little two girl band from Traverse City who just got signed to a record deal. Plus we were introduced to 'Frap' or Folk Rap. Definitely shades of Amish Paradise, but very cool and fun!

Hanging out on Kelsey

We had some homies over the other night after church. Lots of playing in the backyard, eating perfectly grilled burgers and laughing togezza! Perfecto!

Look at that colorful spread!

Playing in the backyard

 Dig in!

Come again! Anytime!

Bigger or Better?

Do you have anything that's bigger or better than this? Or just any weird junk you want us to take?
We started with a cookbook and wound up with a whole lot more!

Or a kitty? we like those too!

JUNK!!!!! Not pictured is the green light fixture, strongly resembling a cluster of grapes.

Several stories to go along with everything too, hard to imagine that I'm sure!

I'll have a junior sundae please

Remember how I said before that a lot of my great ideas end up as messes for Peter to fix?
Yes, well, this was more of a tasty goof up, so he wasnt too mad.
I ordered a double waffle cone at Sherman's the other day. It was our lunch, so dont get all judgey too fast. I kinda knew I'd made a mistake when Peter then ordered the junior size sundae, (he's not typically an A+ student in ice cream restraint.)
They laid the thing down in a banana split boat! Oops!

This is not it. I failed to take a photo, but thanks to Instagram hashtags you can see this is a single. Another of those giant scoops needs to be put it on top.

See? he wasnt too upset.

We also did a lot of biking in and around town. That rack was our best move of the summer.

Ahh sweet summer time!

Small wins

Got around to biking to OBI for pizza, which means my champion husband got the bike rack on the car and functioning! My 'great ideas' tend to turn into a mess for him to clean up :)

Spent some girl time with the bogo. Dinner, walk, and ice cream. Perfecto!

Triumphs in the kitchen. Not to toot my own horn, but I've had a few lately, this being one.

Some days it's tidal waves and others it's the ripples.
Just keep swimming!

High speed paint shirts

It's a new chapter in my life, I'm willingly taking a turn in preschool chapel.
For those of you who have known me, you know something real and drastic has happened.
Correct, I married Peter.
He loves helping with the littles, so we had a trial run last week. I was looking for the dad's-old-shirt paint shirts and found these blue plastic things. It's all so homogenized now!

Photobombing the preschoolers... #classy  :)

I made this for you Miss Betsy!

At one point I did have to ask for a show of hands for who had cried that morning. About half :) #toomuchVBS

Everything's just beachy

The Boyne bound family was live in GR last weekend, just to spend time together. How nice! We did a lot, but at a leisurely pace, the best way to do things!

Friday night was dinner on Kelsey and a backyard bonfire.

Saturday started with sleeping in or playing golf, depending on your gender, and age. All met for a late breakfast, girls shopped, boys...did whatever boys do for 2 hours, then all met on the shores of Lake Michigan!

Dinner was had in Holland at an old, yet rarely visited standby - Fricano's! Follow by some window shopping with Grammy

Running with his mother to get to his Uncle and Granpy

And hazing Uncle Peter. I think he's going to let him in.

Sunday, Moses dispatched his parents back to Boyne and stayed on in GR for a bit where he snuggled and watched the Tigers, had lunch with Aunt Betsy on Monday, and went for walks Monday and Tuesday.

It's good to be Mos. :)
