So my friends and family can be up on life here in GR

Nursery Duty

And I happened to have my camera with me, so that was a no brainer.
Hard to say who loves playing in nursery more, Peter or the kids?

We had another too, but she wasnt so sure about Cherrios or snappin' photos and NONE of them are too into chatting just yet, so it was just a munch munch evening :)

Mmm Cheerio time, sorry about ruining dinner at home!

Birthday Boy!

It was dad's birthday on Sunday, so we baked a cake and celebrated with hotdogs and Downton Abbey! :)

'Easy on the candles, it's looking like a forest!'

Classic.

Happy Birthday Mr. Dad!

Oh my High School and College Gurls!

Petey was away, so I got to play!!! Not that those are mutually exclusive, but having a gaggle of girls over for an entire evening is easier when he has plans, rather than just getting banished :)
They were so gracious to come visit me and Madge in our time of loneliness, even pretending to like the terrible mac n cheese I made. That, is true friendship.

Madge and I had fun, and I think they did too :)

Church for the ages

Sunday was a special day at church, we welcomed several new members into our church family, baptizing three. One of them is particularly special to me, and I think now holds the record as our oldest new member. I dont see it being broken any time soon either.

Grandma giving her testimony. A majority of the events in her testimony occurred prior to the birth of most people in attendance that evening :)

I love (her) and the look of pure joy on her face :)

All five of our newest members, poor Petey, he's old hat now :)

My two special sweets of the evening

I am reminded again that God is always working; he's for all people, of all time, who will humbly come and call on him as Lord! Beauty!

Oh my gurls

Over the weekend I was able to spend some long overdue time with my girlfriends, more than we planned! What a delightful surprise!

Saturday we had lunch at Arnie's one last time before Kari and KP had their babes!

Lunch was just in the nick of time, Kari's baby Arend couldnt hardly wait a minute more, he was here before noon on Sunday!

I'm just all sorts of out of my gourd over this little guy :)
and thankful for my friends.

Cake time!

Connie's Cakes, our wedding cake bakery, feels that year old frozen cake is nasty, and so do I.  To remedy this, they bake you a new topper for your first anniversary! No wonder we got along so well, we're just like two goldfish in a bowl! Anyway, we enjoyed it this week :)

Peter thought perhaps this time he could smash it in my face? But, he thought wrong
Always a bad move. :)

Reunited and it feels so good!

That was the theme for our New Year's weekend.

On the 31st, just like last year, we celebrated Becca and the new year! It was complete with Asian food (always the right thing around New Year's), cup cakes, a crash course on my camera settings (which tells you something about how much we've actually seen these friends since the summer), a sister trio featuring a ballad from Mulan, and the ball drop of course!

On New Year's Day we had Peter's fellow Sparty fans over to watch the big game. So exciting! My parents stopped by to drop off a birthday gift for Mos, and ended up staying for the food and excitement too!

No one was exhausted from the previous evening's activities...

After the game, we capped off the day by slipping and sliding our way north on 131 to Boyne. We havent been since Labor Day and we missed our foster niece kitty Fran! We spent Friday with Marv, Linds, and Master Mos poking through Petoskey, playing games, and enjoying each other's company.

After dinner, we hit the road again, heading for our Honeymoon destination - Applesauce Inn! So fun! It's like a home away from home, except with a cook and housekeeper :) We spent most of Saturday 'recreating' our honeymoon by going to Mission Point lighthouse, browsing and dinner in Traverse City, and seeing a movie at the State Theater!

Beautiful weekend for many beautiful reasons!
