So my friends and family can be up on life here in GR

Sparty On

Peter's so into being an MSU alumni that we went to homecoming this year.
OR
We happened to have tickets to the game on homecoming.

Either way we went and it was fun! Rainy but fun!

And they eeked out a win. It's going to be an interesting year in the Big Ten!

It was a celebratory weekend

We celebrated mom and dad's 40th anniversary again with a little belated trip to Mackinac Island, a Connie's Cake to celebrate Lindsay's belated birthday, and then we were able to be there to celebrate Virginia's baby dedication and subsequent delicious lunch.

Cheesin' on the ferry!

A little R&R before taking to the streets and shops. Good thing Uncle Petey loves George and is willing to share his George viewer!

I've said it before on this very blog and I'll say it again, if you want fudge on the Island, JoAnne's is the place to go. It's also important to not be there on a busy day.

This little man, and his traveling companions, were able to enjoy some warm fudge from the marble. Yum!

Ice Cream @ Sadie's!!!

I'm enjoying Mackinac Island Fudge ice cream at the Grand Hotel, does it get any better?!

Awww, baby T. you have great parents! :)

And grandparents too.

The flowers on the island were breathtaking. Just stunning.

Saturday we toured the fort. I cant tour the fort (or any of Mackinac Island) without feeling like Grandpa Marv is going to shuffle around the corner and point out some interesting tidbit I missed.

That's a good looking fam!

Happy Birthday Lindsay!

Bath time for babies

Virginia and her friend Keen were dedicated by their parents on Sunday morning.

After a delicious and succulent lunch at Sante, it was home again, home again but with a trailer load of pavers for more improvement of our fighting position.

We did it!

Peter and I made it through our summer list with just a few days to spare!

Friday night we crashed our friend's anniversary celebration and joined them at Ruth's Chris - oolala I know! No photos, so you'll have to believe me based on the aroma of butter I'm sure I still carry. And we havent quite brought ourselves to tossing the to-go bag, so you could see that sitting on our counter for evidence too.

Saturday morning was a ladies starter at church, these are always the lovliest time. After breakfast a few of us hit the outlets. I hope that when I'm Aunt Barb's age I'm also making purchases at J Crew.

Sunday night brought a rousing night of games with our youth groupies. I was successfully out Sequenced twice in a row by Morgan while Peter spent most of his time trying to corner the market in Pitt.

In the in between we enjoyed beautiful weather, football, and continue to improve our fighting position at home.

A full weekend

Friday night Peter had a softball tournament, but more importantly there were bunnies there!
Including baby ones.
I had to remind Peter we have kitten whom he routinely tells to 'kill' so a bunny might not fair well...

There was also the most spectacular double rainbow sighting, really unreal!

Saturday was a full morning of errand running to all the best little local places, you can hardly hate it. Plus when I got home, I had the most fabulous delivery on my porch. UPS could really learn a thing or two when it comes to adding the extra touches.

Saturday evening we were able to dine with friends, so sweet! and Slows bbq was muy bien too!

And now we're off to the races again!

Labor Day expressed by Madge

Friday we headed right out to South Haven after work. It was good weather and the MSU Sparties managed a win. We were all glued to the TV, like this:

Saturday was stormy most of the day. We mosied around town a bit, took in a craft show, and celebrated a birthday in the evening.

Cake?!  Cobbler.

Sunday was preschool chapel with the cherubs and a potluck at night. So good to gather in the house of the Lord with his people, refreshing.

Monday I really had my act togezza and managed to make breakfast!

And then it was back to lazyville, and watching the US Open! which was perfecto!

Now, we're into bleak stretch #2. No paid holidays for nearly 3 months.
At least it's Autumn, with football, and beautiful colors!

Tiny Hat on Cat

Happy Bird-Day Madge!!!
She wishes it had been bird-day, she wishes every day were bird-day :)

She certainly would rather have had a bird than a hat....too bad, you're the house cat for our enjoyment!

She clearly gets enjoyment too.

So now the great debate is whether or not we can still call her 'Kitten'
