So my friends and family can be up on life here in GR

Your Basic Memorial Day

This year our Memorial Day was standard fare.
No trip or huge house project undertaking, just time at the lake, time with family and friends, biking, parade, etc.
Kinda like ordering scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon for breakfast; basic, but always good.

Friday and Saturday we were in South Haven. We poked through town including the Farmer's Market in the morning, biked, and then went for a boat ride in the afternoon.

Monday I dropped Peter off at the airport and then caught the tail end (as in: the firetrucks at the very end) of the Standale parade which included the flyover pictured below, and then spent a very nice afternoon with my pseudofamily - just love lazy days with them.

When I got home I honored my Veteran by giving his house a thorough cleaning. ;)
Glamorous! Glamorous!

40 Years of Luv

On May 17th we were able to celebrate my parents 40 years of luv!
It was a great day at church, lovely surprises throughout the day, and a delicious brunch with family.
The best part to me was to see how much they enjoyed being surrounded with their family and friends, what a gift!

We're so thankful for them and were so glad to celebrate all weekend long!

A Grand Ol' Party

Peter's dad has always been politically active in Kalamazoo County and was recently recognized by the GOP for his work and support.  For us that translated into an evening out, free dinner, and a speech from the house majority leader. Alright, alright!

Congrats dad!

Cookie time, time, time

In honor of my parent's 40th anniversary I under took my greatest cookie challenge yet:
cookies for church cookie time.
The big leagues. :)

Bake

Ice - so pretty when the color swirls into the icing!

 Paint

Bedazzle

 Voila!

They're fun to create and I love the reactions!
A labor of love and a lovely labor.

Doubling Down

On Mother's Day Peter and I doubled down and saw both moms and two grandmas too - whew!

Gift time and a photo bomb from Peter

Do you know what they say about coordinated families? Me either, but I'll bet it's good. :)

Carrot cake is for mothers. We brought this one to Peter's mom and shared with the rest of his fam too. Great reviews again on this recipe. yum!

Happy Mother's Day 2015!

Love Means Everyone

Last Friday marked our final 'tennis girl' wedding, so instead of love meaning nothing, it means everyone!
Kim and Josh make a most lovely couple and it was reflected with a very lovely wedding.
Warmth and friendship were the markings of the evening.

Beautiful colors

The back of her dress was so pretty! The cake mimicked her dress too :)

Speaking of a handsome couple!

Oh and another! handsome x 2!

Great flowers! so pretty and springy!

We worked on choreography to Uptown Funk at the bachelorette party, some people (the ones in the front) continued working and pulled off a great dance!

Kim and her girls. in my opinion, she's the glue that keeps us together, thank you dear friend!

Congratulations to a very happy couple - best wishes and many blessings for the years to come!
