So my friends and family can be up on life here in GR

Birthday Time

All weekend we did nice things to celebrate my birthday, but I have to say, it just didnt feel like my birthday. It was wonderfully overshadowed by the bigger life events going on for us right now. Almost like my first 'motherhood' moment of learning to be selfless, my birthday (and so much more) now takes second place; this Bebe and preparing for him or her is more important.
The best part is, I liked it, I really did. :)

Breakfast out was followed by the ballet with the most beautiful dancing blue bird.

After the ballet we headed south for 5th grade girls basketball and late lunch with Peter's family at Chinn Chinn's (the most delicious Asian Bistro) to mark Uncle Bob's birthday and mine. The basketball game just happened to be hosted by Peter's elementary school, fun times on Memory Lane!

Gifts in the morning before church and gifts at the 616 brunch.

Sunday afternoon brought furry family time watching the Kitten Bowl and then a Super Pan of brownies with the youth groupies :)

When I pointed out that this was my last kidless birthday, Peter gave me the best gift by referring to me as a hot young thing! 35 weeks pregnant doesnt usually solicit titles like that, so I'll take it! :)

A little project

Why not tear apart your upstairs just before Christmas?! and have the project linger into the new year... I suppose there's never a good time and now's better than March or April!

Our dining room became the holding zone for all the junk we had squirreled away upstairs. We were shocked and sort of ashamed by the amount of junk...HS letter jacket anyone?! This photo really doesnt do justice to how much stuff was in there. Perhaps my closet full was already in the basement?

This was after Day 1 of work. All floor surfaces you see, aside from the green room, were carpeted. Yes, even the bathroom.

 Midway through the painting. fresh!

Then we got our stairs redone bc they looked like exhibit A. No more squeaks is a bonus!

Madgie loooooooves to help with all the projects, or get in the way, idk ask the painters!

After a several week hiatus, the floors upstairs were repaired, sanded,

and refinished!  Ooo lala Bebe is going to love their new room! :)

The bathroom got tiled too, it looks great!

And that's a wrap! Whew! Just in the nick of time, now we can get on to setting up Bebe's room :)

Oh Lovely Duckie!

Over the weekend my very sweet girlfriends threw me and Bebe a darling shower. It was so fun to spend time with them and celebrate the little one growing strong inside me. It was a duckie theme and no cute left detail out :)

Waddle it be???

Super cute duck pond punch bowl

Duckie soap favors and a cheery table spread - fresh greens in the winter, thumbs up!

Instead of games the guests were able to decorate wooden blocks for Le Bebe.

Guests could also pamper themselves, two of them took it upon themselves to pamper me!

On top of it all they lavished wonderful gifts on me and Bebe.

Group shot!

Beautiful hostesses with the mostestess!

Thank you dear friends, looking forward to sharing Bebe with you!

Three more weeks

For whatever reason I got on a three week picture rotation, so another bit of time has gone by and I have a few more photos to share.
I'm midway through my third trimester and feeling good; for which I'm thankful.

We've taken birthing classes (wide eyed emoji), ordered the crib, and scheduled a lot of one-more-time-before-bebe-comes things, like a hair appointment for me :)

We three queens

It's good to share things with friends.
I've had the fun of sharing pregnancy with two other women at church who are due just about the same time as me.

Here we are! All due within 2 weeks of each other :)

I've also had the fun of growing up with these two girls and sharing various stages of life with them. Our paths have lead in very different ways but our friendship remains and I'm so thankful. :)

Bride-to-be, Togolese Bachelor winner, and Mom-to-be ;)

Let the joy continue!

Saturday was a great day

To stand in the cold and wind blowing directly off Lake Michigan to get a Pronto Pup. And it was.

AND to celebrate Arie's 1st birthday! What a dollie!

Hopefully there are many more pups and Arie birthdays in our future!
