So my friends and family can be up on life here in GR

Shower for le bebe

The sweetest family started coming to church about two years ago.  While they have a 7 year old, Tonya just had another little one, and he's their first born at our church so we had a shower for her - any chance to party really! :)

Cookies! yum yum yum!

Hostess gifts!

Tonya and some friends

Lisa hogging the sweet baby!

I cant decide which end of the shower I like being on more!?  Giving is just as fun as receiving!
Sharing in the joy.

Quite the Thursday

Last Thursday was quite the day around these parts!  Dad had surgery, Moses came to visit, and I had my first bridal shower!!  It was my church shower, which was much anticipated and so fun!  Sherri was a wonderful surprise guest speaker and I cherish her kind words to me about loving my new neighbor, dessert was right up my ally - hot fudge sundaes! and Becca wrote a lovely note to me.
What a joy to celebrate together!

Lunch with a tiny casted Mos

:)

Ohh lala!  So many wonderful gifts!

Beautiful quilt from Karen B

This picture is so fun to me because there are three youth, (or former youth) sitting around me helping with this and that, such a sweet blessing our church has.

My Lindsay and my Mom

My Sisters

The Hostesses

All of our darling shoes!

Having my church shower was something I have thought about for many years.  The women in our church have helped me immensely and shaped me in becoming the woman I am today.  I am so thankful for them and grateful for the gift they are to me!

Pack 'em in!

I was hoping the fire in the backyard would keep some occupied, but it didnt really, so we were mostly in the house.  All 30 of us. :)

 Fun!

There were gentlemen there too, apparently they're scared of the camera!

Yeah, that'll happen on Halloween

You might dress up like a candy and run a race.  Jokes included :)

You might have aliens, afros, and smooching Starwars heros at youth group!

Crazy hair/hat night!

You might have Prince Charming and three princesses show up at your door.

You might.  Who knows?

Let it Grow, Let it Grow, Let it Grow!

Gardening is something I'm beginning to appreciate more and more.  I wish I had hours and hours to fuss in the yard, I really do.  I'm through the second summer now, and my landscaping is starting to take form...or not. But I'll keep swinging!

I tore pretty much everything out and planted 6 peonies in the first month or so of living here.  Last summer they all put out green leaves, and one even managed one withery flower.  Hooray!  This summer they have all come up again, are looking much fuller than they did last year, and managed 3 blooms before the rain got 'em!

A forsythia, (or three), was removed last fall, and this year I have rewrapped the garden edging, seeded, and planted a few transplants from mom's garden where the bushes were.  Fountain Cherry Tree or something is on deck for that vicinity.

A garden was cut at the base of my fence last summer as seen here and I still have the tan lines to prove it. :( I put in hostas last year which are looking lush and beautiful so far. This year I put a patch of crazy daisies at each fence post and a morning glory at every fence section.
Hostas!

The rocks were mostly cleared out of the front flower beds and put between the garages.  A little round up in there and I shall hopefully remain free of termite and other bug damage to my garage.

In the front beds, I planted fox glove patches on either side of the porch.  My only casualty so far has been a critter eating a foxglove completely.  Boo.  These didnt work out so well.  I'm hoping a winter of repowering will do them well!

I'm enjoying watching everything take root and grow!  There's something SO neat about cultivating life in a beautiful way!  Next year I'm adding Qis Mix and Zinnias.

Oh and I'm adding a full time lawn boy to my staff over the winter; we're both very excited for next year! ;)
