Q and A

It's been a loong while since I've done some Q and A, and I'm sure you've noticed the blog has been a little less than inspiring lately...sorry!  So here's some answers for ya!

Q:  Many moons ago Andrea asked, 'How many miles on the Red Fox?'
A ~ Great question.  Right about 135k. Again, she was a good friend.

Q:  Andrea also inquired about what flavor I had at Young's?
A ~ Another good question.  I enjoyed my personal Young's favorite Cow Patty.  It's a big mix of deliciousness!

Q:  Lindsay asked about the new background
A ~ It's just a template that I customized to my liking.  And the photo collage is compliments of Picnik.

Q:  And no one asked, but I'm sure it just slipped your mind...
A ~ My Flag Football team ended up being 3-5. And the weather was beautiful every time!

Q:  Allison did actually ask for more Puff blogs.
A ~ Gladly my friend! :)

Q:  And now I ask you: what are you most Thankful for today?
A ~ Good friends!

Happy Week!

Q and A

From time to time I like to take a post and answer some questions that may have come through in my comments.  So here goes -

Andrea asked: ‘Jewelry rack?!?!?!’  Yes, I didnt know what to call it, so I went with rack, and as I was typing I thought ‘oh geeze I hope she doesnt have a cow, I just cant come up with something better!’ so sorry; holder, show piece…I dont know, but mom is using it, so that’s good! :)

Andrea also asked: ‘Where’s Sherri’s ring?’  She’s wearing it, I think my cam just isnt high def enough to see it.  It’s beautiful though!

And because the third time’s the charm, Andrea also asked: ‘Did Brenda get new glasses?’  Good question.  I have no idea, but after further inspection I’m going to say no, not recently.  I think I’ve seen them before.

And WAY back when, Jonny Wu asked: ‘Do I remember winning everything at retreats, especially spokes?’  uhhhhh remember?!  Why do you think I go on those things?  So I can WIN! :)  hehe Kidding of course, but yaaa Jonny, Mike and I definitely did clean up pretty well back in the day!

Last weekend Kari and I completed our 4th road trip in the name of bridesmaiding.  It was a good time, photos to follow!

Happy Tuesday!

Q and A

Again, I’ve had quite a few Q’s in the comments of my blogs, love it keep them coming!  Here are the A’s and some responses as well -

Andrea and Melissa asked, ’What is Friend Making Monday?’ – Well girls, it’s a blogging community way of making new friendsAmber has been hosting for a while now, so on Mondays go to her blog, see what the question is, add your link, and then blog your responses on your blog.  When you’re on her blog you’ll see tons of links to other blogs, hence you make new friends.  Good question!

Nocona asked, ‘Are you a youth minister?’ Nope, a youth leader for our Junior High and High School Crazies! :)

Lindsay commented that, ‘There are no Good Fish Stories in the DR’ my response to that is: DR couldnt handle Good Fish Stories and we couldnt handle them!  Can you even imagine!?  haha  You’re hilarious though, and I laughed when I saw it!

Kari asked if, ‘I got my craft on’ when I highlighted Jenn’s new sweater.  That’s a big no, unfortunately.  I just cant find the time, I’m barely keeping up with the bloggeroo!

Andrea was wondering, ‘The cost of the original sweater, (of course you are)’.  I dont know, it was an Ann Taylor that I think she’d had for a while, so cheapy cheap.  Andrea also wondered, ‘If Jenn follows Tots?’ Turns out she does, I didnt realize it beforehand though.

Melissa wonders, ‘How’s life in GR land?’ Great question since that is the point of this blog!  Life here is good, I’m enjoying what I’m involved in right now at church, work is clicking along, it’s been a circus act with Cupid floating through the air – call me, my birthday was great lots of fun activities and people, Pink Day was wonderful – I snuggled with Hoogendyk mice while watching the Olympics, and I received the most darling card from Hoogendyk IV asking me to be his Valentine in the cutest little 5 year old handwriting ever! :)

That’s my story here’s some photos from the Olympic Party over the weekend!

Heart Cookie Recipe

There are several ways to make the Half Hearted Cookies. I'd say before anything else you have to be making them with either love in your heart, or shear bliss about how much people are going to love them. Without one or both of those, they are nothing more than flour, sugar, butter and chocolate - which isnt all bad, but is made better with one of the afore mentioned items.

In my case I drove to my nearest GFS Marketplace (Happened to be Alpine in this case), purchased the delish Heart Shaped Cookie Dough from the coffin freezer, took them home, baked them from frozen, let them cool, melted chocolate chips, dipped one front half of each cookie in chocolate, used a knife to scrape off excess on the back and let them harden! Tadaaa!

But for real, any sugar cookie recipe will do, and to make them extra shiny, Becca added a little Crisco to the chocolate, not much though.

Birthday Festivities have been great this weekend, thanks to everyone who contributed! - pictures to follow!

Q and A

So I've noticed I've had a few questions in the comments people have been leaving me. I dont like writing back in the comments section, so I figure I'll take a moment and write the answers here, and a few other things too.
Andrea asked what is a 'Chub'? Great question, I didnt know either and when Grandpa opened them for Christmas I was totally out of the loop and felt dumb, turns out Vicky didnt know either, whew! Chubs are simply smoked fish; but they're hard to find anymore. Apparently they were far more common back in the day, which is why Grandpa and Grandma love them, but have trouble getting them, hence a good Christmas gift, and funny! Also, delicious.
Lindsay asked if I'm following a training schedule for the 5/3 rbr? uhh sorta, kinda, I will eventually? I glanced at the official training guide that the rbr sends out, and I know that with my activity level at this point I'm a little ahead of what they're doing. I wasnt all that pleased with the schedule last year, so I think I might poke around on the internets and see if I cant find one the I like better. It was a little intense, and wearing.
Kari didnt have a question, but she said she's in for training for the race, YAY! she's also in for our trip to the Earthquaken DR next week! WAHOOOOO! :)
Road Warrior: It's been a good week, not so eventful or anything, just good. I'm back in a routine for working out, and I think with it, I'll be good to go for rbr come May. This week I went to the Y Monday morning, Tuesday evening, Thursday morning and I plan to go Friday night and possibly even run outside Saturday - it's been mild.
I hope everyone's doing well, if you're looking for a funny story head over to my SIL's blog!
Happy Thursday!
