It's hard to complain about a Monday when:
1. it's 8-9-10 and the sun is shinin'!
2. Your haul home from work includes: A bran-spankin' new IKEA catalog, Airhead Xtremes, Ferrero Dark Chocolates, Nutella, Sour Belts, Very Berry Lemon Heads and multi fruity Tic Tacs!! plus Ghirardelli chocolates were put in my candy bucket today!

3.  The freeway is open again! WHEW!
4.  Your bogo (bff X 10) and you sent funny emails all day!
6.  You stopped by your friend's house on lunch and received many mouse hugs and kisses!
7.  It's your grandparent's 64th wedding anniversary!

Hapday

I still stand by my statement that I work for the greatest company and yesterday was just another evidence of that.  When I came to work there were streamers decorating half my cube - it took about 2 seconds, then 'oh yes, it's my half birthday tomorrow!'  Some of my girlfriends from my department thought it would be hilarious to go all out for my half birthday, so they did!  

Even the Happy Birthday confetti on my desk was cut in half!  And as a 'gift' I received a paperback torn in half! :)  Clever!

For some of you who might be confused, a half birthday is the six month point before and after your birthday.  My bday is February 7, so August 7 is my half birthday!  check out this blog to see how she celebrates, and get some yummy treat ideas!

Today my friends Tim and Jenni are tying the knot! Congratulations!

Today is my one year blogaversary! :)  

One year ago a rear ending gave me the lead off story I was looking for to get me started!  A literal kick in the pants you could say! :)

It's been a good week on the home front here are some highlights:

Monday Night: Girls Night at Marybeth's - good food, good friends!

Tuesday Night: Wedding Shower for Amy Crego - we have an awesome set of ladies at church!

Wednesday Night: Work dinner, surprise concert (I work for the greatest company), Sr. high girls night at Hoogendyks!

Thursday Night: We shall see!!!!

I share my blogaversary with my friend Allison's birthday - Happy Birthday Ally! and it was my nephew Sam's bday yesterday!  Happy Birthday Slam! :)

Honk if you Must

I've been encouraged to share this story on my blog, not one of my finer moments, but here goes!  Last weekend I was driving home from our cottage and it was right around dusk.  I was on Lakeshore, which is a two lane, 55mph, through way.  At the time this road was put in there was MUCH less traffic than there is now, and I've had a friend killed on this road, so I'm always cautious driving on it, especially around the intersections.  As I approached an intersection I saw a car pull up, do a rolling stop, and since he wasnt planning to stop he pulled out in front of me.  I could tell he realized he should have stopped but had over committed himself, but just to let him know that, yes, he was an idiot, and that no, I didnt appreciate him being careless, I laid on the horn! 
Well, my '99 Red Fox had the last laugh, or honk, because when I took my hand off the good 5 second honk I had let out, my horn continued to blare!  RATS!  So I'm driving 55ish, whacking my steering wheel, trying to keep her on the road and get the horn to stop!  I was even glancing for the electrical cords to disconnect!  I eventually got to the point where if I held the horn down it wouldnt honk, but if I took my hand off it started again.  In the end I just gave it one, firm, square hit right to the middle and it stopped, but now I feel like I cant ever use my horn again!  And thankfully the guy turned just shortly after pulling in front of me, so he got the message but I think he thought a serious road rager was behind him! 

Ohh the Red Fox!  Gotta love her! :)

The Day I Quit Quitting

Wednesday really was a big day.  After three years of not playing tennis, (and when I say not playing, I'm absolutely serious, not once!) I dusted (literally) off the racket, bought new balls, strapped on the shoes and hit the courts!  It was like riding a bike!  I'm so happy Kari and I ventured out to egr and did it!  here are some photos -

I'm heading out soon for the weekend - dinner, movies in the park, beach, biking, etc.

Marvelous Monday...

...or hit by a truck Monday?  The weekend went zipping by and before I knew it I was getting my fill of 'go juice' in the kitchenette this morning to ward off the hit by a truck feeling!  (Which I successfully did.)  It was a busy fun filled weekend that ended a busy fun filled week; here is photo documentation of what I'm talking about -

Tonight was good - I got my hairs cut (cant go wrong there!) and spent time with Dana at 'her condo' or maybe the one she's house sitting?  either way - the Union School Condos are very cool!

Night with the Rockstars

Last week already (I'm SO behind!) Dana, Linds, Kari and I went out for dinner and a movie - really fun and really cheesy romantic movie!  And it was half off appetizers which we didnt realize until we got the bill - then we knew why the waitress seemed cheesed when we all got water and most of us got appetizers...oops!  :) 

This week the whole family was in town - more pictures to follow!
