So my friends and family can be up on life here in GR

And now I remember

Now I remember just why it is that I rarely make cookies! I've had the idea for these friends in my head for a while, as in, the cutters have been sitting out since I put Santa and his reindeer away.

But a bake sale at work forced my hand, literally. And so, taaaa daaaaa!!!!

I got smart, and doubled my batches, so more to come soon ;)

Funnies Lately

Easter Ham.  Peter and I dont even like ham that well, but we get one every year from his office for Easter. And not just any one, a HUGE one. We typically grill it, have people over, send leftovers home, and end up making at least a soup or two in the fall. This is the before and after 6 people ate from it. Barely a dent!

Fran. She's such a funny kitty. Very interested in everything, especially dairy things; sometimes Peter can barely eat his ice cream because she's all over him begging!

Dana! I'm so glad to have her back in the USofA! We love spending time with her, she's a hoot!

Youth Group kids. I love building relationships with the kids at church, and, I get to have conversations like this. I think her brain is blown bc of my use of slang and a real word all in one sentence. I believe her response to my last statement was an eye roll...

Anywhoo, these among others, have been bringing the laughs and the joy to life lately. :)

Run! Girls Run!

It's been 8 years and counting since Ms. Kari and I did our first River Bank Run together.  We've participated in each event over those years, some years together and some years apart.  This year Peter and I conquered the 5k and Kari took on the 10k.

Post race.  It was by far the most lovely weather yet.

Cheers to the next 8 years!

Momma's Day

Mi momma es muy bueno. siiiiiii!
And with that, my use of the Spanish language has been exhausted.

We had a lovely Mother's Day, unfortunately I took zero photos.
Zero. Zilch. Nada.
I'm so disappointed in myself.
I have a bit of an excuse in that I was hosting Peter's family, and in my humble opinion it was a beautiful spread! White and green grilled asparagus, maple roasted sweet potatoes, a five fruit salad, grilled smoked ham, and artisan bread. Topped off with a chocolate trifle dessert!

Audree took a photo of her and Peter's mom's matching dresses! too funny!

My mom came over in the evening for a little time to chat and catch up.  We've been like ships passing in the night lately.

Two good photos of the Queen Jean and me :)

Happy Momma's Day!

While the cat was away

my lovie went to town!!
His farmer tattoo was probably showing.

A fresh patch of rocks behind the garage to keep the weeds at bay.

Cleared garden beds in the back

 and front :)

He also weeded, fertilized, and mowed!
Purr Purr Purr.  I am one happy kitty!

Delicious

'People who love to eat are always the best people.' - Julia Child

I spent the weekend in Boyne with my 'sisters'. We all love to think about, talk about, and enjoy food, so when I weekend with them, I can always count on it being a delicious time.

Breakfast - cinnamon rolls made with love on a very mini counter!

Got to see my main Mos man. No judging please, my hair was bonkers bc it was raining. #curlyhairprobz

A tasty coffee at North Perk and snack purchased at the Grain Train. I had chocolate covered quinoa bites. yum!

Mmm dinner! Split City on mac & cheese and a burger. Hot choco to wash dinner and the cold weather down!

We also did some shopping, chick flick watching, late night chatting, nails, hair, etc.
All the stuff a good girls weekend is made of!

Supervised family visitation

This weekend Fran's birth family came to town, aka Marvin, Linds and Mos!  We had a delicious dinner at mom and dad's Friday. Saturday for breakfast they helped us explore our neighborhood.  We went to Fat Boy!  I've driven by it all my life, live two-tenths of a mile away, and had never been. Not anymore!

And there was some Fran time too. Reunited at last.

Sunday night we had supervised family time with the Taylor's too!  We were able to celebrate Audree's graduation from KVCC. Peter and I enjoyed time talking and celebrating her accomplishment.

Most of the gang

Fun weekend to all!
